New research proved that the flowers of sieved chamomile, of which are eliminated by sieving the receptacle and the pigtails, are more active than whole flowers. This is because the cells with volatile oil contains azulene and are fixed only on these little flowers which are separating on the receptacle during in which is sifted the floral capitulum. Also flavone content is higher in tubular flowers than in ones entire.
The chamomile infusion is prepared from one or two teaspoons of whole or sieved flowers, which is poured over a cup of boiling water. Another method of preparation is as follow: are macerated one or two teaspoons of flowers in half of a cup of cold water for 30 minutes. Filter the liquid and set aside. Pour over the remaining flowers ½ cup of boiling water and leave for 15 minutes. Filter and mix both liquids. By this process is extracted most active principles from flowers.
For bathrooms, put it in a canvas bag a handful or two of powder flower, which is poured over boiling water. Keep this until bath reach the temperature normal body then is used in desired purpose.
To burns, chamomile can be used in the form of oil that is prepared as follow: 10 g sieved flowers (two tablespoons) moistened it with a spoonful of alcohol. After a few hours, to this content is added 100 g of sunflower oil and heat it on the water bath (a bowl of water in which is put the beaker with chamomile) for 2-3 hours until the alcohol has evaporated. All the while, mix the oil often. Filter and squeeze. The oil obtained is kept in colored bottles and to cold.
